Trail Training

Whiskey Run offers trail training services for gaited breeds of all types.  Horses are exposed to hills, fields, rocks, creeks, cattle, dogs and traffic.  An indoor riding area, 50’ solid sided round pen and outside riding arena are available.  We have access to steep hills, fields, water and rocky terrain.  We teach horses to stand quietly to mount and dismount, back, climb hills safely, walk down hills safely, step over logs and cross water.  We can also work with your horse on bitting, manners, & consistent gaits.  Training programs are tailored to the individual needs of your horse.  Charlie and Peggy have more than 40 years of trail riding experience.  Whiskey Run training has produced several SSHBEA Competitive Trail Riding World Champions, including Tennessee Whiskey, Whiskey’s Delta Dawn, Red Eye Whiskey, and My Sippin Whiskey.
